Our standard font is Arial UPPERCASE- 7mm high; lower case 5mm high. This is included in the cost of the product, please add the initials you would like at checkout. For journals, the default location for debossing is at the bottom right corner on the front of the cover.
2. Engraving - the letters or image are carved onto the leather with the help of a laser machine. For an additional $10, If you need your logo engraved on the cover, please, attach the file in vector format at the checkout (.AI, .SVG, .PDF, .EPS) . The closer you get to the surface, the smaller and denser those fibers become.
Hence, the top layer, also called "Full Grain", is the strongest and the most durable cut one can buy.
What is vegetable tanned?
Leather needs to be preserved before usage.
Vegetable tanned is an all-natural preservation technique that involves soaking hides in tubs filled with natural solutions like tree barks to give the leather a durable, soft, and tight feel.
Leather wrinkles
Typically, cows have wrinkles on their necks and legs where their skin is bent. These wrinkles are left on the leather on purpose. They show that leather is a naturally processed full-grain top hide.
What is the pull-up effect?
When colors migrate and become lighter in full-grain leather whenever it is stretched or pulled, it is termed the pull-up effect.
The pull-up effect results from displaced oils and waxes on squeezed material surfaces.
Leather scars
Cows get scratches, insect bites, or wounds in their lifetime. As a result of natural healing, there remains a scar. After the hide is separated from the flash, these marks are left untouched as technology requires.
